(More customer reviews)I've had the original Scala rider for years and have always been pleased with the operation, but wished for a way to use the MP3 player in my phone. The G4 delivers! I did try another brand, but my helmet would not accomodate the speakers and I returned it. I've had the G4 for about a month and use it daily. The MP3 player delivers great sound quality, good stereo separation and is loud enough to hear with ear plugs. The automatic volumn adjustment is great, keeping the same relative volumn when the background noise increases. The voice activation feature, while great for the bike to bike intercom, kills the phone/music link any time you say something out loud (no singing along with the music). The bluetooth link sometimes actually requires reacquiring the phone and separately the MP3 link even though both are through the phone. It takes some fiddling and button pushing to get the music back. I have yet to use the FM radio portion, so I can not comment on that functionality. I have only used the bike to bike intercom feature once and it seemed to work as advertised with a older version of Scala Riders. If you haven't tried music while riding, you will love the G4! The phone portion is also an enhanced experience, since you now get it from two speakers.
