I ordered this item as a gift for my son.He rides motorcycle both on and off-road.He first brought this item to my attention after seeing it at dirt-bike tracks. As a motorcyclist myself, I have heard stories of neck and spinal cord injuries, even paralysis caused by improper helmet removal following motorcycle accidents.I believe every ambulance and hospital emergency room should be equipped with the Shock Doctor Helmet Removal System for professionals ([...]).Surprisingly none of them in my area had ever heard of it until the ABATE (American Bikers for Awareness, Training and Education) chapter I am a member of purchased the system and showed it to them.
My only regret regarding this purchase is that it did not include the inflation bulb nor a CO2 cartridge, rendering the 'kit' virtually useless unless my son is at a track or local emergency services have one.Not my wisest decision, and the reason I gave this item four stars instead of five.I also hope that inflating it will never be necessary.

Product Description:
Shock Doctor Eject Helmet Removal System Youd never think of racing a car or motorcycle without a helmet. You shouldnt think of wearing a helmet without the Eject Helmet Removal System installed either. The simple device is so small and lightweight it does not change the fit and feel of your helmet -- youll never know its there. The Eject Emergency Helmet Removal System helps prevent further neck and spine injuries of crash victims. When any type of cervical spine injury is suspected, first responders can easily remove the helmet without causing further unwanted movement to the victims head or neck. The system is so highly lauded that the AMA American Motorcycle Assoc. and the IRL Indy Racing League now require it for all licensed professional riders and drivers. The Eject helmet removal device is a small bladder pictured that sits inside your helmet. Following a crash the bladder is easily inflated by trained EMTfirst responders by using a squeeze bulb or CO2 cartridge not included with this kit, lifting the helmet from your head reducing the risk of further aggravating any potential neck injury.
