I take them everywhere, whether I throw it around the chair at work for a continually cold drink, or for the bike rides on the weekends, and not to mention filling the old camel pak up with my favorite drink before the party. Although it is recommended that you do not fill these with anything but water or the camelpak branded drinks, filling it with Gatorade or mixed drinks wont be to detrimental to the pak. It doesn't transfer flavors all that much and remains very clean despite the slight discoloration of the pouch. Cleaning is very simple with hot water and dish soap, then allow it to air dry. Once it is dry I always throw a dry paper towel into the pouch so that the sides of the pouch don't laminate together when it gets hot in my storage room or any residual water is absorbed. It is my third year in college and I'm only buying another one because my first got stolen, which I'd had for over 5 years. This is a great quality product. I also recommend other camelbak products, such as the water bottles. I now have purchased 2 of the bottles and never go a day without using them. Very durable and they can't spill. Much nicer than they Nalgene brand.
