(More customer reviews)I bought the collar based on a letter in a motorcycle magazine.The writer described exactly the same problem as I've experienced for many years, which is "roaring" wind turbulence apparentlyl created in the gap between the base of my helmet and the top of my shoulder.This seems loudest on the freeway, mostly on the upwind side when riding in a cross-wind.My helmet fits closely to my neck, so that's not the problem.Putting my hand in the gap between helmet and shoulder eliminates roaring, but you can't ride like that all day.I'd never considered a MX "race" collar since I ride only on the road, but thought I'd try it.Well, based on the only long trip I've made so far, it works very well indeed!It fits in seconds using the hook and loop strap.The only negatives I've found are that it makes turning the head to see what's happening behind more difficult, and it's quite bulky to store on the bike when not in use.I'll definitely be taking this collar along whenever I make long freeway trips from now on!
