(More customer reviews)The Nolan N43 Trilogy initially seemed to be a good helmet selection to me when I first tried it on. I had been wearing a Shoei RF800 which is still a good helmet but heavier and mine is getting old. The Nolan is very light and has some interesting features such as the removable chin/lower face guard, face shield and it is ready for electronics.Unfortunately for me, what I found out after a couple of rides is that the chin guard is too close and my chin rubs on the guard just enough to be annoying.I don't know how a microphone would ever fit. Removing the guard provides room but I would prefer the protection. I ride a Street Glide now and the ventillation system does not keep the shield very clear on cold mornings.The first detent for cracking the shield open is about .5 inchs and the buffetting causes the shield to vibrate quite a bit.Which leads to my next issue which is the loss of a shield pivot screw which is the grey or silver disk on the helmet side.It is made of plastic and is held in place by pushing it in and turning 90 degrees.One of mine fell off while driving in traffic and was not recoverable.So now the shield is useless and I'm trying to find replacement parts.I tried to ride without the faceshield and the helmet wind noise and vibration above 40 mph is so loud I can't hear anything and it makes my eyeballs rattle.I know part of that issue may be my bike and the batwing fairing but I'm just reporting my own experience.If you choose this helmet good luck with yours.
Update 15 April 2010 - I may not be crazy about the fit but the CIMA International customer service is OUTSTANDING.Afer calling CIMA I just received two free replacement pivots in the mail.Now the face shield is functional and I really appreciate their assistance.
