I have been riding motorcycles on and off military bases for decades now, and it sometimes seems like the only way to not be challenged by the gate guards, is to wear the ugliest orange rag you can find.
That's because DOD Order 6055.4, OPNAVINST 5100.12H, Marine Corps OrdersMCO5100.19E, Army Regulations AR385-55 Appendix B, and individual-Base regulations all take a stand on defining proper Personal Protective Equipment(PPE), and the actual rules may vary depending on which Base you are trying to enter.
However, this vest meets or exceeds all the regulations covering all the various definitions of high visibility color for day light riding, and the amount of retro-reflective material for night-time riding. and I have never been challenged at any military facility while wearing this vest.
The vest fits snugly from top to bottom and will not shift around in the wind, or flap in the breeze. But at the same time has enough elastic in the right places to allow for freedom of movement in the riding position.
So if you agree with the product description that says "no bright reflective vest is ever going to win you style awards" you will have to agree that If you wear this vest, no one will be able to honestly say "I didn't see the motorcycle..."
They may still say it, but it won't be true.
My statements above apply only to the orange colored vest.
