(More customer reviews)I had no choice in my original purchase of this tire. I was returning from a 3500 mile trip to Copper Canyon and the IRC GP-110 rear tire I had on my '07 KLR650 was toast. This was the only tire that the dealer in Sierra Vista, AZ had that would fit my bike. I ended up realizing that I could keep this very street-oriented tire while I continued to tour on and off road!
I didn't relish tackling some muddy and sandy conditions with it, but it didn't fail me. With appropriate air pressure, the D404 performed surprisingly well in most dry or rocky dirt conditions when ridden within its limits. It lasts forever and I've never had a flat on one. It feels great on the highway and lowers rpms a bit at speed with its high profile. I'm on my second rear now, but would recommend a different tire for the front. The matching D404 80/90 21" front is too narrow in my opinion for spirited street use.
