(More customer reviews)The Signal Dynamics headlight modulator is fantastic! I bought it in a desperate attempt to get the attention of oncoming drivers who turn left across my path. It works great for that purpose, but after two weeks of use, I've also seen a remarkable reduction in cut-offs by cars entering traffic from side streets. That one-second hesitation as their brains try to process the meaning of the flashing light seems to be just enough time to make them realize that there's an actual vehicle approaching, and that it's not OK to just roll through a right turn at a stop sign or red light.
The low-light sensor seems to be calibrated perfectly, because no matter how bright the sunlight is, my headlight stops modulating just as soon as I get all of the way into a garage or parking structure. It's also great that the modulation can be instantly disabled in group rides or rush-hour traffic.
This device is a little harder to configure than the the ones that are "plug and play" in the bulb socket, and you should probably use a multimeter to make sure you're hooking it up correctly, but the extra features (working on both high and low beams, two different modulation patterns, alternating modulation when the horn is continually pressed) make this modulator well worth an hour's time spent on installation.
