(More customer reviews)I have been wearing this helmet for over 500 miles of motorcycle riding in town and on the highway. Here are the plusses and minuses as I see them:
Plusses:
1) I wear prescription glasses and the open face style of this helmet is convenient for putting the helmet on and taking it off...I don't have to remove my glasses to do either of these.
2) The slide down shaded interior visor may seem like a gimmic to many people, but again since I wear prescription glasses, this is a nice feature for me.
3) I like that you can remove the padded lining so it can be cleaned.
4) There is adequate venting.
5) It is a pretty good helmet for the price.
Minuses:
1) It makes me look kind of like a "Spaceball" from the movie of the same name, since it makes my head look quite large.
2) The attachment points for the visor look like they may not last all that long.
3) I wish it were SNELL certified.
4) There is, I believe, a DESIGN FLAW pertaining to the length of the visor and its positioning in relation to the helmet. The visor is not long enough. When you are riding at slower speeds of under 40-50 mph or in calm winds you won't notice much.In higher winds or while travelling at highway speeds there is a problem. If you look at the side of the helmet where the visor and helmet meet there is about 1" of helmet by the ear covers that is not covered by visor. That small notch and those exposed ear covers cause air to whip into the space between the visor and your face and make it extremely noisy in the helmet. That whipping wind sometimes blows directly on my eye, and I've even had a bug get caught in that air and hit my eye.I have tried covering these notches while riding and another inch of visor would completely eliminate this problem.I never had this happen with my old school bell 3/4 open face helmet and face visor.
In short, if you are looking mainly at slower speed in-town hops and commutes, this helmet will work fine. If you are looking to do highway riding or touring look elsewhere. If you are looking for a helmet to ride while riding a 50cc scooter, this may be your winner!
Lastly - I would like to return this helmet, but because it took me several outings to figure out what the problem was with this helmet (see above), this helmet has of course been worn and incidentally scuffed a few times.Because of that [...] will not let me return it!They would inspect it, see that it's been scuffed and send it back to me = Frustration!
