(More customer reviews)This is my second Joe Rocket jacket and the fit and finish of it are first-rate. I tried onbunch of mesh jackets from different manufacturers and none of them matched the quality & feel of the JR, in fact w most other jackets, the addition of mesh made them feel flimsy and insubstantial. On the JR, the mesh is well-integrated w the design of the jacket so it still fits the way it should without feeling cheap or flimsy.

But the real test of the quality of this jacket is how it performs in the SE Texas summer heat. So while my friends donned their tee -shirts (tempting fate of course--one fall and they're a bloody mess) to stay cooler, I put on my Joe Rocket mesh jacket which is designed with the proper padding in all the right places to protect me in any fall. Granted, when it's 95 humid degrees the JR jacket feels a lot more comfortable at 70 mph than sitting at a stop light, but even then it's not too bad. Air flow is great in the jacket and I wear an Under Armor heat gear compression shirt under it that wicks perspiration to the surface proving plenty of sweat cooling effect.

My one and only beef with this jacket is the collar or,should I say, the lack thereof. Joe Rocket should have invested another inch or two of fabric and put in a Nehru style collar. As it is the lack of collar means a gap between jacket and bottom of full-face helmet and the weirdest red-neck sun burn design ever. I'm covered head-to-boots everywhere else, but the collarless design of the jacket means I have to put sunscreen on just my neck before I ride. Oh well, it's a PITA, but considering all the great features of the Joe Rocket Jacket, it's not a deal-killer, yet is the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. If you love to ride inthe heat, but want to be safe the Joe Rocket is definitely the way to go!
