I wear a modular or full face helmet when riding and don't care for how balaclavas feel when I pull a tight fitting helmet over them. By covering just the neck/throat area, the neck warmer provides protection w/o affecting how my helmet feels on my head. Have used the neck warmer to ride in 30 degree weather - don't ride below that because of ice dangers.
